OFFICIAL SIGNING 200 MILLION WITH IDSB
AC Konsortium, Ikhtar Destinasi team up to woo civil servants
AC KONSORTIUM Sdn Bhd, a direct-selling firm headed by artist AC Mizal, has signed an RM80 million deal to woo potential customers among civil servants.
The deal allows government servants to buy apparel and electronic products from AC Konsortium through salary deductions.
This will be made possible as it ties up with Ikhtiar Destinasi Sdn Bhd (IDSB), which is licensed by the Ministry of Finance to carry out factoring finance for government or government-linked firms contracts and procurements.
Factoring is a financial facility which allows businesses to convert their credit sales into cash sales by selling their invoices to a factoring company for immediate payment.
“This is our first time venturing in direct-selling business. We began talks with AC Konsortium two months back and believe in their capability for this business,” IDSB managing director Datuk Zainalabidi Mohamed Husain said in Kuala Lumpur.
Yesterday, AC Konsortium signed a partnership agreement with IDSB to provide credit financing for government servants who want to be involved in the company’s direct-selling business.
AC Konsortium was set up last year to market products like accessories, apparel, electrical and electronic equipment and health products.
Its executive chairman AC Mizal said the group is projecting sales of RM200 million a year based on its product range and competitive pricing.
“We will be running the sales and branding initiative. We will come up with an AC brand laptop, MP4, television, magnetic bracelet and apparel, among others,” he said.
Over the last three months, the group has reported RM1 million in sales.
